Usability Testing Reports

BACKGROUND

During my senior year of college, I had the opportunity to take a Usability Testing course as provided by my major. In that class, I learned about the various ways one can test the usability (or accessibility) of a website and provide recommendations to ensure it's compliant with certain standards. I analyzed and reported on three different websites as part of three different projects. It was an enlightening course and in a way my first introduction to User Experience.

PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS

Project 1: Grizzlyground Usability Test Report

The first project of the course I analyzed and reported on the usability of a music blog website that I had written for, Grizzlyground. I provided findings on whether or not the headings, content, navigation, and other components of the website a user might interact with were 508 compliant and were user-friendly.

Project 2: Bowl of Good Usability Test Report

Similar to my first project, I tested the usability of the local Harrisonburg restaurant Bowl of Good's website. While I ran through the same procedures as I had with the first project, this time I created 5 scenarios that were tested by people I thought fit the primary and secondary user types. I noted their verbalized thoughts and expressions and helped moderate them through each scenario.

Project 3: Little Grill Collective Usability Test Report

The third project capitalized on what I had done in the other two projects. This project consisted of two parts. Part one dealt with the preliminary research of the website's primary and secondary target users, recruiting people that fit the user types, and creating scenarios for the participants to walk through. Part two showcased the findings of the participants as they went through the various scenarios, I analyzed what this might mean for the website and gave recommendations for improvement.
